It's simple to place an order, just follow the steps below:
- Get photos of your pet. Send several good shots.
- Decide on head or full body painting.
- Decide on the size of the painting.
- Decide on the backdrop or background for the painting.
- Fill out the Order Form according to your preferences.
- Send me your photos, order form and deposit.
AGREEMENT
- Artist will confirm completion date and price when photos order form and deposit arrive.
- The artist agrees to paint a pet portrait in watercolor according to the requirements on the order form.
- Payment is due at the time of completion and before the portrait is shipped.
- The artist owns all the copyrights on all photographs of the pet portrait used for marketing purposes.
- All original photographs supplied to the artist for the painting shall be returned in their original state with the finished portrait.

To give you an accurate price, it's best for me to see the photo. The following prices are for one pet and may vary slightly according to the complexity of the portrait.
An acid-free black mat is included free of charge with each portrait. For safety purposes, frames are not included. Please contact me for additional requests:
additional pets;
a pet and a person;
scenic background;
or any other ideas that you may have! For larger portrait sizes and more than 2 pets in one portrait, please contact me directly so that I may give you an accurate quote.
Prices start at $150 for 8x10 and $200 for 11x14. Additional pets in one portrait are an additional fee of $75 for 11 x 14. Scenic backgrounds are an additional fee of $50 to $150 depending on the complexity (textured or shaded backdrop are included in the price). I will give you a quote once I have seen the photo.
PHOTOGRAPHS
All of your photographs will be returned safely to you. Please remember that the final outcome of the portrait is directly related to the quality and clarity of the photograph used. It is advisable to send me additional photos of your pet to serve as a reference for coloring, personality, and special details. Backgrounds are typically omitted and a shaded or textured style background is painted if desired. There is no additional cost for this feature. A background from a different photograph can be incorporated into the portrait if desired. Your photos need not be any larger than 4" x 6".
- Photography Tips
- Get as close as possible without blurring the subject.
- The camera should be at your pet's eye level.
- Focus on the face/head unless you want a full body portrait.
- Take the photos outdoors in natural light. An overcast day is best without direct sunlight, which may washout the features.
- Indoor photos will also work as long as you can take the shots near a window with natural sunlight.
- Take photos from different poses and several angles.
- Take lots of pictures! It may take an entire roll of film to get one or two good shots. Choose those photos that best depict your pet's personality, and unique expression.
- Don't worry about the background unless you want that included in the portrait.
- Send me several photos indicating your favorite shots. I like to use numerous pictures to ensure the color and anatomy is individual to your pet in the final outcome.
- Typically the best view is three quarters (as shown below.)
TURNAROUND
Turnaround time depends heavily on the number of portraits that I have been commissioned to paint. I typically have a waiting list of 2 - 3 months. I will give you an approximate date at the time that you commission me for a painting. If the painting is for a special date, I will do everything I can to meet your requirements.
PAYMENT
I do not require a deposit up front. I will e-mail a digital photograph (or mail the photo) of the painting to you for approval. After approval and prior to shipment, I will ask for payment in full. I accept paypal (preferred), money orders and personal checks (must clear the bank before shipment).
SHIPPING
All commissioned portraits are carefully packaged and do not include the mat or frame, due to shipping. Packaging & shipping charges are $10.00 for UPS Ground through North America (usually takes 5-7 business days). Paintings larger than 18 x 24 will be charged $20.00 for shipping and packaging.
